Celadon craft Design Workshop
Learn how to moulding, carving, and painting traditional Northern Thai motifs using high-fire porcelain glaze.
Time: half day course (9:00 am. - 12:00 pm. Or 1:00 pm. 4:00 pm.)

Program:

1. Hand- moulding :
A term which means that the clay is hand- moulded with the help of a rotating cylinder which is forms the Celadon piece.
The exterior surface, the edges, and the base are all hand-formed.
Students will use a potters wheel to create their pottery. |

2. Carving:
Choose the pottery has been moulded which is set aside and allowed to dry, in the open air.
Pottery gains the hardness and comparative consistency of leather.
Student will use the tools for carving with their own design. |

3. Painting :
Choose the bisque which would like to paint.
Students will design and produce a unique decoration by painting on bisque.
The high-fired celadon process takes an additional three days.
The bisque will be over painted with wood ash glaze, dried, and high fired.
Students will have the option of taking the painted porcelain bisque ware home on that day without high firing.
However, students wanting their hand-painted celadon to be high fired can pick up their art after three days. |
